![]() I will try this, too - but I never had a crash or something happen before the issue started. I've never opened them since, and never had any problems since either. I put them in a different location, and made a brand new project and imported them. Not knowing the problem, I saved the wav files because they were someone's vocals I couldn't replace. I got Windows shutdowns "to protect your PC from serious damage" (or similar wording). I'm almost certain that's what happened to me. Then maybe add the files - is it not possible that one or more wavs are corrupted and crashing the project? What if you create a new project with no wav files, and add all the plugins you used when it crashed? (From the Create New Project option via Reaper from the Start Button). Have you tried creating a new empty project first ? Maybe pull the pci card audio interface and test the system with just the built-in interface (integrated into the logic board) to shotgun that. Test your hard drives and your ram initially. If you have that, and even cloning the safety copy back to the system drive results in error. Which version of Windows and is it 64/32bit?ĭo you keep a backup clone of your system drive?ĭo you also have a safety copy disc image of the original install (for in case something goes wrong with the backup)? ![]() I have debugging tools installed at work, I can do a basic analysis of it which might point in the right direction. Is there a minidump file that you could post in the stash that I can look at? (sometimes saved in C:\windows\minidump - depends which version of the OS). Needless to say I'm not a sleep walker and hadn't changed anything. I had a nightly mix session together with some band members, and when I wanted to render the next morning, Reaper just crashed. Sigh.īackground: last week Reaper decided to act up literally over night. Maybe someone have a look at the crash report I attached? Thanks. I ran out of ideas, I can't work anymore (and I have projects overdue) :( I spent the last 2 days re-installing Windows and Reaper and all the (minimum) necessary drivers and utilities, and it still keeps crashing all the time.
